Song Tapper
Okay, be careful with this one, ’cause you could easily find yourself wasting away an afternoon! Tap a song using the space bar on your keyboard and, theoretically, the Song Tapper will name that tune for you! If the Song Tapper doesn’t get it right, you can enter the name of your tune and the artist to help out the next poor schmoe who comes along.

Petty vs. the Red Hot Chili Peppers
This is a fun little .mp3 download that compares Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California.” When the Peppers’ song was released, there was some controversy as to whether it was a rip-off of Petty’s song. Both songs were produced by Rick Rubin. But I personally think Tom Petty himself summed it up best when he said during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, “I seriously doubt that there is any negative intent there. And a lot of rock & roll songs sound alike. Ask Chuck Berry.” Take a listen and decide for yourself:

Kiss This Guy
If you want a laugh, check out Kiss This Guy, a website listing tons of misheard song lyrics by song and artist. The singlemost commonly misheard song lyric of all time? It’s a line from Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze: “‘Scuse me while I kiss the sky,” commonly misheard as “‘Scuse me while I kiss this guy” (hence the name of the website).

Virtual Guitar
Play guitar online with this Virtual Guitar. You can even record your amazing talent and play it back!

Virtual Drums
Play drums online with this Virtual Drumset. Yep, you can record yourself on this one, too!

Play Your Telephone
According to DialSongs.com, you can use the patterns of numbers they give you to play songs on your telephone. What they didn’t take into consideration is that my phone sucks and has the same, dull, monotone tone for every number. Maybe it’ll work out better for you.

Online Karoake
Yep, you heard right, and yep, I checked it out for you first, before listing it here. Go to AMusicalBox.com to play karaoke versions of your favorite tunes and sing along. Warning: The lyrics don’t play on the screen, which is what I’d fantasized imagined they would do. You have to download ‘em first, then hit the play button and it’s all on! By the way, I rock on Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven is a Place on Earth.
