The Blips were conceived in 2004 by Atascadero musicians Ron Hagadone and Sharine Borslien. Both enamored with the power and passion of classic rock music and frustrated with flakey musicians, they put together an over-the-top rock show.

The Blips feature live vocals, guitar and theremin, utilizing “technologie charmante” (an Apple Powerbook and LogicPro) to generate backing tracks. In addition, for venues equipped with a projector and screen, a backdrop video adorns the stage.

A show like The Blips wouldn’t be complete without costumes and stage names: Guitarist/producer Ron Hagadone became Hieronymous Blipford, and vocalist/songwriter Sharine Borslien became BeBe Blipstein.

BeBe and Hieronymous are a bit otherworldly, as witnessed by their unique outfits and space munchkin-sounding speaking voices.

Hieronymous brings over 35 years of guitar playing, music study and production experience to The Blips. His influences are classic rock artists such as Robin Trower, Kiss, and Bad Company, and you can hear his passion for Blues a la Ronnie Earl, Robben Ford and Mark Ford.

BeBe is a classically-trained vocalist, songwriter and musician with more than two decades of stage, touring and recording experience. Her unique style draws upon artists in rock, pop, jazz and blues music.

And The Blips LOVE Led Zeppelin!

One of the most uber-creative music acts both sonically and visually, The Blips could be characterized as White Stripes meet Kiss on Cartoon Network! In professional level shows, they perform an engaging mix of original and cover music that surpasses typical rock bands.
